Local landscape painter to be featured in a solo exhibit at the Creative Arts Center in Bonham.
Local Fannin county artist, Phyllis Ryser, will display her paintings in a solo exhibit at the Creative Arts Center in Bonham from October 3 through October 30, 2019. The Arts Center is located 200 West 5th Street, Bonham, Texas.
The public is invited to a reception at the Arts Center to meet the artist Friday October 11 from 6-8 p.m.
The exhibit will focus on paintings done mostly in local settings during early dawn or late evening at sunset. The aim is to capture the most beautiful moment of the day when the light is muted and the sky is most colorful.
From Maine to Montana, Ryser has set up her easel in the same manner as the French Impressionist Artists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century who began the ” plein air” movement by painting in the outdoors or in the open air.
