The Twilight: Middle Eastern Art Exhibit: call for entries

The Twilight

Irving Art Association is celebrating Middle Eastern heritage and culture with an exhibit named “The Twilight: Middle Eastern Art Exhibit” to be on view June 26 – July 29, 2022 at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts.

Any media, any topic or theme (no nudes). All area artists from young to old are invited to submit 2-D and 3-D artworks for the exhibit, which will be held in the large and small galleries of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr., in Irving TX

Calendar

Last date entries accepted online on June 19, 2022deadline extended to June 23rd.

 Drop off artworks: Saturday, June 25th  1 – 4 pm. Contact the curator if you need to drop off your work before then.

Exhibit starting date on June 26th – July 29th

Reception & award ceremony on Sunday, July 10th  5-8 pm

Pick up artworks date: July. 30th from 10 am – 3:00 pm

ENTRY FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

CATEGORIES

  1. Painting:

Oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, tempera, encaustic, fresco, inks, spray paint/enamel

  1.  Drawing Media:

Graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, marker, pastels, colored pencils, scratchboard

  1. Mixed/Other Media:

Collage, Found Objects, Fibers, papermaking, clay, mosaic, bookmaking, or any use of two or more media together. Collage must not extend more than six inches beyond the base surface.

ENTRY FEE     $25 for 1, 2 or 3 paintings

SALES

An IAA representative will make the introduction between a potential purchaser and artist. All sales must be arranged between artist and buyer. A 10% of purchase price donation to the IAA is requested for all sales of artwork exhibited in IAA shows. The artist is responsible for all taxes and commissions on these sales. Sold artworks cannot be removed until the end of the show.

LIABILITIES

Although the Irving Art Association, IPAR, or the City of Irving will exercise due care in handling works submitted to the exhibition, these entities will NOT be responsible for loss or damage to any artwork. Artists should ensure their own artwork.
