Hot and Sweaty 2022 – Call for Entries AUG 6th

HOT AND SWEATY 2022

500X holds this uncurated open show every summer, and anything is fair game.  Hot and Sweaty is a salon-style, non juried exhibition of works of any medium made by Texas Artists.  If we have the space for it, we will hang it!  Proceeds from Hot and Sweaty goes to continue exhibition opportunities and events that support local and emerging artists in the state of Texas.

This is a first come, first serve basis.  Arrive early!

ELIGIBILITY:
HOT and Sweaty 2022 is open to all artists over the age of 18 living in Texas working in any media.  Artists of all levels are encouraged to apply.  All media with  visual or experimental component are eligible, including drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, video and beyond.  Hot and Sweaty 2022 will be installed at 500X Gallery, 516 Fabrication St. Dallas, TX 75212.

ENTRY FEE & PROCEDURE:

$10 entry fee per artwork for up to 6 submissions. Payment of artwork is on site at the gallery via cash or online transaction through our website/Venmo.  Please bring exact cash.
The gallery takes 40% in an event of an artwork sale.

There is no jurying process – show up to 500X Gallery on Saturday, August 6th 12-5 pm to drop off your artwork.  500X Members will take care of installation.

EXHIBITION SCHEDULE:

-Drop off times for artwork submission:
Saturday, August 6th, 2022 12-5pm
-Exhibition opens: August 13th, 2022, 12pm
-Opening reception: August 13th 2022, 7-10 pm
-Exhibition closes: August 21, 2022, 5pm
-Artwork pick up: August 21, 2022, 5-7pm

ARTWORK SPECIFICATION:

-Artwork shall not be greater than 30″ on all sides (frame included).
-All work must have adequate hanging hardware, wire and/or cleats.
-Works that are not fit for display will not be accepted, which includes works that are too heavy.
-Pedestals are available on a first come, first serve basis.
-All media accepted, however, video/sound electronic works must have all equipment provided by the artist.  Sound must be kept at a reasonable volume as determined by members.
