Workshop: How To Integrate Collage And Drawing Into Your Painting

Purpose:
- For introducing another technique for your own artwork
- Excellent for recording quick memories when you travel and for your own diary
Supplied by instructor for class use:
- 140lbs cold press paper: size 22 x 30 inches
- Acrylic paints
- Brushes (different sizes)
- Matt medium (Liquitex)
- Pencil
- Pen
- Scissors
Enrollees Must Bring:
- Magazine clippings, photos
Introduction of the history of collage in art history:
- Brief introduction of the history of collage
- List of various famous artists who used collage
Requirement:
- Bring various photos from magazines or your own photos to use as sources
- If you decide to use your photos make some color photocopies. You may want to enlarge the
image if the photo is too small.
Goals:
- You are going to create your own painting on paper by integrating the medium of collage and
drawing
- You will be introduced to different ways of creating your own collage by transforming the image
with various medium
- You will learn to make your own collage with your own drawings
- You will learn about how to enrich your color palette by introducing the use of colors by mixing
warm, cool and neutral greys.
