Call for Art: 63 & 93: Generations in Conversation

CALL FOR ART
63 & 93: Generations in Conversation, an exhibition featuring artwork created by artists 30 years of age and younger on display alongside artwork created by artists 60 and older living in Texas. Fifty works of art split evenly between younger and older artists, twenty-five for each age range. This exhibition will focus on influences and conversations, emphasizing how artists from different generations create artwork. The exhibition is not meant to be a competition but a point of conversation, drawing two age groups often seen in opposition to one another due to preconceived ideas. The exhibition will explore changes in technique, media usage, environmental and technological influences, and how artists representative of two periods, the 1960s and the 1990s, are inspired.
The exhibition runs from October 6 – December 16, 2023 and will be at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center in Denton, Texas.
Call is now open through July 14, 2023, at 11:59 PM.
There is no fee for entry.
Questions can be emailed to exhibit@dentonarts.com
This exhibition is funded partially by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts.
