PrintAustin is thrilled to announce the open call for its 6th annual juried international exhibition, The Contemporary Print. Presented in collaboration with Big Medium, this year’s exhibition will be juried by Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck, and be held at Big Medium gallery during PrintAustin 2019.
The Contemporary Print is a survey of traditional printmaking techniques and innovative approaches in contemporary printmaking. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique. These include lithography, relief, intaglio, silkscreen, photo polymer plate (i.e. SolarPlates), and monotype.

The 34th Annual International Exhibition is a juried exhibition of 2D art organized by the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Tyler. Internationally known artists, curators, and scholars have served as jurors selecting works for exhibition created by some of the best contemporary artists working today. The Department purchases three to six works from the exhibition each year; purchased works are added to our permanent collection. The permanent collection serves as an educational teaching resource; much of the permanent collection is exhibited throughout the UT Tyler main campus

Artists are invited to enter the 4th Annual Conroe Art League National Invitational Show. This call is for artists of original 2D and 3D artwork created on or after January 1, 2017. Cash prizes will be awarded, and $1,500 will go to First Place, $1,000 to Second Place, and $500.00 to Third Place. There will be three Honorable Recognition awards. Entry closes Friday, November 30, 2018, at midnight Mountain Time, and the show will exhibit at the Conroe Art League gallery, Conroe, TX, in March 2019. This is a judged show, and the judge is Dr. Jessica Locheed. Dr. Locheed is a professor of art history having earned both a Ph.D. and M. A. in art history at the University of Iowa, and she is currently on the Art History Faculty at Houston Community College.

The Annual National Drawing and Small Sculpture Show attracts works by contemporary artists across the country and is judged by a guest juror of national stature. Resulting Purchase Awards have built an impressive Permanent Collection at Del Mar College.
This year’s 53rd show runs February 15, 2019, opening reception 6-8 p.m., and closes May 3, 2019. Accepted artwork is displayed in the distinctive Joseph A. Cain Memorial Gallery.

Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society – Houston (WAS-H) is known for its extraordinary achievements in bringing water media artwork to the greater Houston area.
