Martin Lawrence Galleries in Dallas invites you to delight in the Essence of Kondakova’s Paris
Come and Meet the Artist at an exhibition Featuring Magical Works on Canvas and Original Limited-Edition Prints.
“The last time I saw Paris, her heart was warm and gay, I heard the laughter of her heart in every street café.” Oscar Hammerstein II
Martin Lawrence Galleries, the nation’s premier network of fine art galleries, proudly announces that its Dallas location, inside the Dallas Galleria, will be presenting ‘The Romance of Realism, a breathtaking exhibition of unique paintings and original new limited edition prints by renowned artist Liudmila Kondakova. The opening reception and artist meet and will be held on Saturday, January 12th, 2019 from 6:00-8: 00 PM
Liudmila Kondakova grew up in Russia, studied at the Graber Center in Moscow and attended Russia’s School of the Sacred Arts and the Moscow Art Institute. In the early 1980s, she traveled to Paris and became enthralled with the City of Light. Since that time her artistic gifts, sensibilities and idealized vision of Paris have served as the foundation and inspiration for much of her magnificent and highly sought after work.
“In my art, the essence and beauty have always rested in the details.”-Liudmila Kondakova
The palette and her background in Russian iconography throughout her paintings are influenced by both Russian and Byzantine sensibilities. Kondakova often finds herself chasing after a particular time of day as she searches for the perfect hour to reveal all the magic that color can invoke.
Kondakova now resides in the San Francisco Suburb of Redwood City and travels back to Europe regularly for new inspiration. This is quite evident in “Asteroid LV,” one of the enchanting new archival graphics, signed by the artist and crafted with hand-made serigraph texture plates. It captures the Iconic Louis Vuitton flower trunk propelled into space, not unlike the way Elon Musk launched his Tesla…a time capsule to share with the intelligent universe. Kondakova creates a world through painting symbolizing what Paris represents to her and a vision she shares with us all.
“Paris was a museum displaying exactly itself.”- Jeffrey Eugenides
Included in the exhibition are new Gouaches on paper. To Kondakova, Gouache is the ultimate precision technique, and Kondakova indulges herself in small gouaches, where the paper is the perfect way to showcase every little detail. Red Umbrella II, capture the enticing detailed and varied cityscapes. These masterpieces are included in the exhibition and available for acquisition.
