THE CITY OF DENTON ANNOUNCES ART & CULTURAL GRANT RELIEF PROGRAM
The City of Denton offers grants for Denton-based artists and nonprofit arts organizations with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (“SLFRF”) program. Up to $15,000 for individual artists and $25,000 for arts organizations are available.
The application period begins on March 29, 2023, and will close at midnight on April 28, 2023.
Eligible individuals and nonprofit organizations must be able to demonstrate an economic loss associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic as required by the SLFRF program. Individual artists must be residents of Denton. Organizations must be headquartered in Denton. Artists & organizations must be members of the Greater Denton Arts Council.
Recipients will be required to submit quarterly financial reports detailing how the funds were used to sustain and support artist works and performances. Performance reports are also required at a 6-month and 12-month period.
An informational event will be held on April 12 at 5:30 at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, 400 E. Hickory St., Denton, Texas 76201. ASL interpretation and other accommodations should be requested in advance by emailing Laura Behrens at Laura.Behrens@cityofdenton.com
